My Attempt to Help Bobby Edwards Make Things Right - RKE Group - Savannah
On September 14, 2018, I texted Bobby Edwards of RKE Group, in Savannah Georgia.
After a few back and forths, and him trying to tell me that he wasn't going to call me because HE was being scammed by scam artists (I laughed at that one), he finally called me.
I told him I was trying to talk to him and help him out because even though he had made some mistakes in the past, I saw that he had tried hard over the years to make a reputation for himself and I wanted to help him avoid the fallout. Full disclosure: I am a digital forensics specialist by trade. I told him this. I let him know that we wanted to avoid going to the courts with this and I wanted to give him the opportunity to make it right.
To me, it was an easy fix. Pay the money back. No charges filed. No reputation damage. She gets her money and peace of mind back and can pay someone a reasonable rate to give her some kitchen cabinets. He doesn't incur criminal charges or look bad in the eyes of the people who he does do good work for. It was a win-win.
When he called, we spoke at length about the issue. He apologized and freely admitted that he had taken the money but was not able to do the work because he fell onto some hard times and no longer had the money. I told him that I understand that sometimes things happen, but a plan needed to be made to make things right. The woman was not interested in adding police charges to his troubles. She just wanted her money back. I wanted to facilitate a clear path to them both being able to move forward.
He told me that he had just started a new job and wanted to get a few paychecks under his belt to get caught up but that he would:
1. Pay her back in increments of $500 a paycheck
2. Pay her back starting the last Friday of October.
3. Let me know if there were any changes
On October 30, I had not heard anything from Bobby Edwards. I texted Bobby asking him to let me know if he was dropping the check off that day or the next, October 31st. The following is our exchange:
First he told me that he was in Houston, Texas interviewing for work.
Then he says he will be by her place at the end of the following week.
When I press him about not having let me know that he wasn't going to deliver, he talks about his financial situation - nevermind the fact that he put someone else in a bind.
He is the one who set the time and amount schedule to begin with.
He says he is exhausting "every Avenue I can" to resolve this matter.
Okay.
I am still trying to give him the opportunity to be a decent human being and give me a plan. His response? That he is working nightshift.
In Texas?
At Thanksgiving time (a full three weeks later) - I still had not heard anything from Bobby Edwards about his plan. I told him I was in town.
Avoidance seems to be it.
You can imagine how shocked I was to see him posting how he was doing fundraising again on November 21st.

He's never been in Houston for a job interviews because after six months of radio silence about a chocolate diamond ring that he stole from me and I am disabled he was getting in touch with me and telling me that he was going to repay me for my ring and he has been through 3 jobs since November and he is con so many people and how he's not been prosecuted is beyond me me but he has still been telling me that he is going to replace my ring he works for The Exterior Pros in Savannah as a salesman

DeleteWould you be willing to testify on behalf of the elderly woman who he has scammed, I have to make sure that when I present what I have about Mr Edwards that I have testimony from someone involved with this situation and then maybe we can get her money back too, I have a different email address if you willing to stop him, I have him very worried about this situation and he is trying to play victim, please let me know and I will give you my other email to correspond from
DeleteI am willing to talk to anyone on what I know of the situation and offer my proof in the form of his text messages admitting fault and saying he would repay the money. He has my number. He knows where he can drop off a certified cashier's check to rectify the situation. He has the opportunity to right his wrongs and in return I will remove the blog but it would be unethical for me to know he owes money and allow it to happen to someone else.

ReplyDeleteMr Edwards has finally surfaced and knows that he's been caught, he's even told me that he's been to a lawyer and that now he's going to be starting a new job next week, sound familiar to you and I have told him that I am not playing games with him and he continues to play victim and say don't threaten him, this idiot wishes that he had something on me but he is also trying to get this blog taken down, just wanted to let you know he is 2 days away from the deadline that I have given him
DeleteYou need to go ahead and take this case to the court system, I am having issues with him threaten me and he is telling me that he is going to repay me for the ring but I don't think that will happen, but if you would please pursue this situation with the lady who he has scammed, I wish you the best of luck but I'm just going to let things be, I have major health issues and can't deal with the stress of the his drama, I have been dealing with this for over 2years and I don't have the fight for this anymore and I have to think about me and my health issues first and foremost, you can contact me through the email address I have given you but this fight and please don't take this blog down ever,he has lost another job so I am going to take the loss of the money just to stop him from being the asshole that he is thanks for your support and help with this situation but I have to quit the fight because of my illness
